SAGILAB-laboratório análises técnicas S.A. is a private entity founded in 1999, located in Portugal, in the centre of the city of Porto. It emerged with the aim of providing support in quality control such as in environmental, food, industrial, hospital and pharmaceutical areas.

SAGILAB is recognised by IPAC (Portuguese Accreditation Institute) as an accredited laboratory, due to its demonstrated technical competence to carry out testing pursuant to standard NP EN ISO/IEC 17025.
Our diverse services currently offered include highly specialised services in the area of Microbiological and Chemical analyses, with the inherent technical competence to collect samples in various matrices. Additionally, consulting services are also offered in the creation of solutions for its Customers, through ongoing follow-up in the interpretation of results, and participation in the preparation of integrated plans.

SAGILAB-Organismo de Certificação (OC) was created in the area of Certification in 2004, with this activity also being recognised by IPAC, pursuant to standard NP EN ISO/IEC 17065, in order to enable the distinction in the national market of products of excellence.

  • Preparation of a Risk Assessment audit project for hotel, hospital and industrial entities essentially aimed at the organisation of a tool to establish and maintain a plan to control the Legionella bacteria.
  • Publication of an article in the magazine Hotelaria & Saúde, addressing the importance of Risk Assessment audits.
  • Participation of SAGILAB's technical management in the programme SabiaQue broadcast on RTP Informação, which discussed the issue of Legionella, due to the outbreak occurred at the time.

  • Accreditation of SAGILAB-Organismo de Certificação by IPAC.
  • Nominations of SAGILAB-OC as the Certification Body of Pão de Ló de Ovar [Sponge Cake].
  • Attendance of the VI Congress of the Portuguese Society of Medical Hydrology, and presentation of a poster entitled “Assessment of Legionella in thermal units – Test methodology and legal framework”, distinguished at the event with an award.

MESSAGE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 
 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
SAGILAB started its activity in 1999, at that time directed to water and food control.
Now, 21 years later, we look back and, daring to touch on pomposity, we cannot but feel an enormous pleasure, pride and honour in the path that has been achieved by this team.

Our company currently has 42 employees, who are the drivers of a business that has diversified to such an extent that, so many years later, we now stand side by side the best also of other areas, ensuring support for the creation of new guiding documents and the sustainment of so many other activities.

As the Board of Directors, we wish, on our own behalf and on the behalf of our employees, to humbly thank all of our Customers, to which we owe an enormous debt of gratitude for their tremendous loyalty, as it is only in this manner that we were able to growth together. Maintaining the feasibility of this project of which we are so proud.

Today, as has always been the case, and likewise in the future, make our laboratory a department of your Company.
